Upcoming Events at Micah:
Remember Me Sunday – May 4, 2025
On the cross, the repentant thief says, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (Luke 23:43). This event, so familiar to us, is the heart of our faith in the redeeming power of God. The Remember Me Campaign commemorates this story in the Passion of Jesus Christ.
You are invited to participate in Micah’s Remember Me Campaign 2025 – an important initiative to support individuals who have been incarcerated and are seeking reintegration support through the Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) program. After losing federal funding in 2022, Micah has been relying on charitable donations to maintain this life-changing program, which has successfully reduced recidivism to 0% over the past six years. The goal of the campaign is to raise the necessary funds to ensure CoSA can operate to its full potential and make communities safer. We invite you to support the campaign by contributing $5 on Sunday, May 4th, and by sharing this opportunity within your community. Your involvement can help rebuild lives and offer hope to those who need it most.
Register your church/organization today to participate! Participating churches will receive bulletin notices for every Sunday in April plus posters, brochures, and homily suggestions. For the collection on Sunday, May 4th, churches will be invited to set up their own collection box or the Micah Mission can deliver one. For more information please contact us via email at info@themicahmission.org.
CoSA Programming Needs Your Support!
– The Saskatchewan ICE unit recently reported that they are currently investigating the highest number of reports it has ever had to handle – over 1300! This is up from 1,003 for the 2023-24 fiscal year, and well above the 853 received in the 2021-22 fiscal year.
– CoSA is a proven Canadian-made, evidence-based program, that reduced recidivism by 88% (Micah Mission boasts statistics higher than the national average!).
