It’s regularly in the news, an individual has been charged with a child pornography related offence. Between 2006 and 2016 there was a 233% increase in child pornography cases. In response, the Government of Canada has committed $2.1 million to engage with online companies to ensure their ability to prevent, detect, and remove child pornography related content. This leaves us asking: what is our role as community members in understanding individuals who create, distribute, and access child pornography?
