Person-to-Person

Person-to-Person (P2P) is a volunteer visitation program supporting inmates at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary and patients at the Regional Psychiatric Centre (RPC). Established in the 1970s and introduced to RPC in 1981, P2P has evolved from its original Mennonite-based roots into an inclusive program, welcoming volunteers and participants from all backgrounds to foster supportive connections and community engagement.

Micah, in partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator at RPC, facilitate the P2P program in Saskatoon. P2P is facilitated at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary by Parkland Restorative Justice. Patients not receiving visits from family or friends are eligible to be matched with a community volunteer for the purpose of establishing a healthy relationship with someone from outside the correctional institution. Community volunteers offer hope, companionship, and a safe, non-judgmental, space for patients to learn and grow.
